Mitchell Kaneff

Chairman and CEO
Arkay

Mitchell Kaneff is the third-generation Chairman/CEO of Arkay, a family–owned and operated leader in the folding carton industry celebrating a century in business this year.

Originally opened by Mitchell’s grandfather on the Lower Eastside of Manhattan 100 years ago in 1922, Arkay has since expanded into a design studio in Hauppauge, NY, a sales office in New York City, and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Roanoke, VA.

In addition to his role as CEO, Mitchell Kaneff is the author of “Taking Over: Insider Tips from a Third-Generation CEO” and is involved with his band, The Young Presidents, as well as his duo, Mitch & Millie, performing original cross-genre music in the New York metropolitan area and releasing a variety of albums and singles over the years.

Mitchell also established a family charitable fund, The Kaneff Foundation, and has been involved in several fundraisers to benefit the Alzheimer Drug Discovery Foundation, Project Literacy, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, to name a few.

The grandson of the talented and prolific artist, Annette Nancarrow, Mitchell has a profound understanding of art and enjoys being a collector.  In 2014 he sponsored an exhibit of his grandmother’s work at the Taubman Museum in Roanoke – Between Two Worlds: Annette Nancarrow in Mexico and America – an event Kaneff looks back on with pride and appreciation.

Mitchell, who enjoys residences in New York City, Southampton, NY, and Roanoke, VA, is the father of twin 21-year-old young men, who just might be the fourth-generation leaders of Arkay one day!
