Carrie L. Johnson is director, strategic communications at Graybar, a leading distributor of electrical, communications and data networking products and related supply chain management and logistics services. Johnson works with Graybar’s senior leadership team to facilitate communication within the company, as well as with outside stakeholders, such as industry, civic and community organizations. She is also leads change management efforts for strategic initiatives and works to build Graybar’s reputation by promoting the company’s employee ownership culture, core values and corporate social responsibility efforts.

Johnson has worked for Graybar since 1993, where she started in an entry-level administrative role and soon moved into customer service. In 1995, she joined the corporate training group and was promoted to manager, supplier training in 2002. She was named manager, employee communications in 2004; director, organizational design and development in 2005; and director, corporate and marketing communications in 2008. In 2016, she was appointed to her current position of director, strategic communications.

Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Calvin University. She successfully completed the Rutgers – Graybar Supply Chain Management Certificate Program, the Strategic Human Resource Planning Program at the University of Michigan and the Leadership St. Louis program. Johnson takes an active role in Graybar’s WINGS program (Women Influencing Graybar’s Success). She volunteers with Junior Achievement and serves on the board of directors at Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis.

Carrie and her husband, Jeff, have two daughters.
